Database/Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant at International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA)

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable candidates for the position of  Database/Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant at its Headquarters in Ibadan.

Job Title: Database/Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant

Location: Ibadan, Nigeria

Description:

• Develop, maintain and operationalize a Monitoring and Evaluation system for the Harvest Plus program that allows learning, adoption and action;
• Work with partners to ensure collection of relevant and appropriate data needed for an effective and informative Monitoring and Evaluation system;
• Build capacity of implementation partners to enable them monitor, evaluate, collate and send data to a central database unit for documentation
• Manage existing database and build new ones for easy access to data on the development, multiplication, dissemination, production, processing, marketing of vitamin A cassava and maize in Nigeria. Develop and manage online marketing of vitamin A cassava and maize in Nigeria.
• Monitor database performance and back-up information regularly. Prepare users by conducting training; providing information and resolving problems.
• Monitor data entry procedures and provide information by answering question and request;
• Provide independent verification of performance of implementing partners through monitoring, assessment and evaluation of the project
• Liaise and provide relevant data to HarvestPlus Impact and Policy team and collaborators.

Minimum Qualification & Experience :
BSc in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related fields with 2 years experience working on a similar role.

• Strong communication skills—oral and written
• Good knowledge of statistics packages, database and web design Detailed Oriented
• Good research result reporting skills
• Time management
• Data entry management

Personal Qualities :
Ability to work under pressure and tight reporting deadlines Willingness to work at odd hours
